We Believe: A Deep Dive — Priesthood of Believers

Join us this fall for We Believe: A Deep Dive, a special Wednesday night series led by Pastor Jeff Warren alongside guest scholars, theologians and professors as we explore the biblical truths and Baptist distinctives that have shaped the church for generations. Each evening concludes with a conversation and audience Q&A, offering practical insight into how these truths inform our everyday lives.
On Sept. 16, Dr. Kymberli Cook will explore the doctrine of the priesthood of all believers — a foundational Protestant conviction that every follower of Jesus has direct access to God through Christ, our Great High Priest. This biblical truth removes the need for earthly mediators and invites every believer to pray, study Scripture and offer their lives in worship and service to God.
Drawing from passages such as 1 Peter 2, Revelation 1 and 5, and Exodus 19, Dr. Cook will examine how Scripture describes believers as a “royal priesthood” called to God’s purposes. Through the lens of historical theology, she will trace how Christians have understood and applied this doctrine throughout church history while challenging us to consider how God has uniquely created and gifted each of us to participate in his mission for his glory.
