The Lord’s Supper: Remembering Christ’s Sacrifice
Dr. Jeff Warren – October 4, 2026
This message from 1 Corinthians 11 explores the meaning and significance of the Lord’s Supper, challenging us to consider what happens when something sacred becomes so familiar that we lose sight of its significance. By returning to the night of the Last Supper, we are reminded that Jesus transformed the Passover meal into a powerful picture of the new covenant established through his sacrifice.
The bread and the cup call us to remember Christ’s body given and blood shed for us. More than a familiar church practice, the Lord’s Supper is a declaration of what we believe and who we belong to. Each time we come to the table, we remember the grace that rescued us and proclaim the saving work of Jesus.
This message challenges us to resist allowing sacred practices to become routine. As we approach the Lord’s Table with renewed attention and gratitude, we remember the story of rescue, grace and resurrection that continues to shape our lives — proclaiming Christ’s death and looking forward with hope to his return.
You are invited to hear one of the world’s most respected voices in Christian theology — N.T. Wright — at Park Cities Baptist Church this November.
This year’s conference, The Fresh Challenge of Romans, will explore one of Christianity’s foundational texts with fresh eyes.
