We Believe: A Deep Dive — Freedom of Conscience in the Age of AI
Join us this fall for We Believe: A Deep Dive, a special Wednesday night series led by Pastor Jeff Warren alongside guest scholars, theologians and professors as we explore the biblical truths and Baptist distinctives that have shaped the church for generations. Each evening concludes with a conversation and audience Q&A, offering practical insight into how these truths inform our everyday lives.
On Sept. 30, Dr. Katie Frugé will explore the Baptist distinctive of freedom of conscience, often referred to as soul liberty, and what it means for followers of Jesus in an age increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
This session will examine the biblical conviction that every person has direct access to God through Jesus Christ without human mediation. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s Word and the community of faith, believers are invited into a personal relationship with Christ and are responsible for responding to him in faith and obedience.
As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into everyday life, Dr. Frugé will challenge us to consider an important question: Will we first seek wisdom from God, or will we increasingly depend on the growing influence of artificial intelligence? Together, we’ll explore how Christians can think faithfully about technology while remaining grounded in a biblical understanding of human dignity, discipleship and the authority of Christ.

ABOUT DR. KATIE FRUGÉ
Dr. Katie Frugé, M.Div., Ph.D., serves more than 5,000 Texas Baptist churches as the director of the Christian Life Commission at Texas Baptists.
In this role, she equips pastors and ministry leaders to navigate complex cultural, moral and political issues with biblical faithfulness and wisdom.
Specializing in the doctrine of the imago Dei and human dignity, Dr. Frugé addresses questions of human flourishing and faithful Christian witness. She has spoken widely on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence through the lens of biblical anthropology and is a leading voice on how emerging technologies intersect with Christian faith and practice.
Her work is also shaped by her personal experiences as a stomach cancer survivor and the parent of children with special needs. Dr. Frugé and her college sweetheart are raising their three daughters in Fort Worth, Texas.
