Psalm 23:5-6

The Lord is My Reward

September 02, 2025 by Dr. Jeff Warren

As we wrap up our exploration of Psalm 23, we’re invited to sit at the Lord’s table, even in the presence of our enemies. This familiar psalm takes on new depth as we consider what it means to truly trust in God’s provision and protection. The imagery of a banquet prepared for us amidst life’s challenges reminds us that our peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God. We’re encouraged to live ‘questionable lives’ that make others wonder about the source of our peace and contentment. This message challenges us to examine where we’re seeking fulfillment — are we constantly moving between different ‘tables,’ or are we resting in God’s abundance? The beautiful truth is that God’s goodness and mercy actively pursue us throughout our lives, offering us a place of belonging and rest in his presence.
