Psalm 23:2-3

The Lord is My Comfort

August 17, 2025 by Dr. Jeff Warren

As we continue our exploration of Psalm 23, we’re invited to rediscover the profound peace and rest that comes from walking closely with our Good Shepherd. The familiar words ‘The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want’ take on new depth as we consider how intimacy with God brings true rest to our souls. We’re challenged to examine our lives and ask: Are we allowing ourselves to be ‘made to lie down in green pastures’? Are we seeking the still waters of God’s presence? This message reminds us that anxiety, worry, and insecurity are not sins, but symptoms of a life lived apart from our Shepherd. By pursuing a constant, honest relationship with Jesus, we can experience the ‘relaxed’ life he modeled — one marked by peace, gentleness, and an unshakeable sense of purpose. As we enter new seasons of life, let’s commit to remaining in Christ, allowing him to recalibrate our hearts and redirect our paths.
