Lesson 6: God’s Love is Empowering
In this message, we’re challenged to examine the true purpose of our lives through the lens of the book of Amos. The prophet’s words, though ancient, speak directly to our modern struggles with justice and righteousness. We’re introduced to two key Hebrew concepts: ‘Zedekah’ (righteousness) and ‘Mishpat’ (justice), which form the vertical and horizontal axes of our spiritual lives. The central image of the plumb line reminds us that God’s standards are unchanging, calling us to align our lives with His truth. As we reflect on this, we’re urged to consider: Are we living out God’s justice in our daily interactions? Are we advocating for the poor and marginalized as God commands? This message compels us to move beyond mere religious observance and into a faith that actively seeks justice and righteousness in all aspects of life.
