Matthew 6:19-24

Knowing Your Priorities

October 27, 2024 by Dr. Jeff Warren

In this exploration of Matthew 6:19-24, we’re challenged to examine what truly captures our hearts. The central question posed is simple yet profound: What is your treasure? We’re reminded that our treasure determines our trajectory in life, capturing our attention and ultimately becoming our master. The passage warns against storing up earthly treasures, which are temporary and vulnerable to decay. Instead, we’re encouraged to focus on heavenly treasures that have eternal value. This message invites us to reflect deeply on our priorities, habits, and what truly drives us. Are we seeking God’s kingdom first, or are we caught up in the pursuit of material wealth and worldly status? It’s a call to realign our hearts with what truly matters, recognizing that Christ is the only treasure that will never disappoint or crush us.
