We’ll also consider how PCBC affirms the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message\, which declares the Bible to be God’s inspired revelation\, the supreme standard for faith and practice\, and a testimony that ultimately points us to Jesus Christ. \nRegister Wednesday Night Childcare \n\n\n\nABOUT DR. SUMMARY:We Believe: A Deep Dive — Priesthood of Believers
DESCRIPTION:Join us this fall for We Believe: A Deep Dive\, a special Wednesday night series led by Pastor Jeff Warren alongside guest scholars\, theologians and professors as we explore the biblical truths and Baptist distinctives that have shaped the church for generations. Each evening concludes with a conversation and audience Q&A\, offering practical insight into how these truths inform our everyday lives. \nOn Sept. 16\, Dr. Kymberli Cook will explore the doctrine of the priesthood of all believers — a foundational Protestant conviction that every follower of Jesus has direct access to God through Christ\, our Great High Priest. This biblical truth removes the need for earthly mediators and invites every believer to pray\, study Scripture and offer their lives in worship and service to God. \nDrawing from passages such as 1 Peter 2\, Revelation 1 and 5\, and Exodus 19\, Dr. Cook will examine how Scripture describes believers as a “royal priesthood” called to God’s purposes. Through the lens of historical theology\, she will trace how Christians have understood and applied this doctrine throughout church history while challenging us to consider how God has uniquely created and gifted each of us to participate in his mission for his glory. \nRegister Wednesday Night Childcare \n  \n\n\n\nABOUT DR. Each evening concludes with a conversation and audience Q&A\, offering practical insight into how these truths inform our everyday lives. \nOn Sept. 23\, Dr. Steve Bezner will explore the historic Baptist understanding of the relationship between the church and the state. Together\, we’ll examine why religious liberty and the separation of church and state have long been defining Baptist convictions\, rooted in Scripture and shaped by the sacrifices of faithful believers throughout history. \nDrawing from biblical teaching and themes from his book\, Your Jesus Is Too American\, Dr. Bezner will help us consider how the life and teachings of Jesus guide our engagement with government\, culture and some of the most challenging issues facing Christians today. \nRegister Wednesday Night Childcare \n  \n\n\n\nABOUT DR. SUMMARY:We Believe: A Deep Dive — Freedom of Conscience in the Age of AI
\nOn Sept. 30\, Dr. Katie Frugé will explore the Baptist distinctive of freedom of conscience\, often referred to as soul liberty\, and what it means for followers of Jesus in an age increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. \nThis session will examine the biblical conviction that every person has direct access to God through Jesus Christ without human mediation. Through the Holy Spirit\, God’s Word and the community of faith\, believers are invited into a personal relationship with Christ and are responsible for responding to him in faith and obedience. \nAs artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into everyday life\, Dr. Frugé will challenge us to consider an important question: Will we first seek wisdom from God\, or will we increasingly depend on the growing influence of artificial intelligence? Together\, we’ll explore how Christians can think faithfully about technology while remaining grounded in a biblical understanding of human dignity\, discipleship and the authority of Christ. \nRegister Wednesday Night Childcare \n\n\n\n\nABOUT DR. KATIE FRUGÉ\nDr. Katie Frugé\, M.Div.\, Ph.D.\, serves more than 5\,000 Texas Baptist churches as the director of the Christian Life Commission at Texas Baptists. \nIn this role\, she equips pastors and ministry leaders to navigate complex cultural\, moral and political issues with biblical faithfulness and wisdom. \nSpecializing in the doctrine of the imago Dei and human dignity\, Dr. Frugé addresses questions of human flourishing and faithful Christian witness. She has spoken widely on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence through the lens of biblical anthropology and is a leading voice on how emerging technologies intersect with Christian faith and practice. \nHer work is also shaped by her personal experiences as a stomach cancer survivor and the parent of children with special needs. Dr. Frugé and her college sweetheart are raising their three daughters in Fort Worth\, Texas. \n\n\n\nCONTINUE THE CONVERSATION\nMake plans to join us for the final We Believe: A Deep Dive session on Wednesday evening in the Great Hall: \n\nOct. 7 — Discipleship Is Learning to Follow Jesus Every Day with Rick Howerton
