Ash Wednesday Service
March 5 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a 40-day period of prayer, reflection, and — for some — fasting that provides a time of spiritual preparation for Easter. It’s a solemn reminder of our connection to Jesus’ journey to the cross and our need for forgiveness.
To help set this season apart, we invite you to a special Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, March 5, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall. During this time of worship, we will partake of the Lord’s Supper, along with the receiving of ashes as a sign of both mourning and repentance.
Before and after the Ash Wednesday service, a powerful art installation — Stations of the Resurrection — by Scott Erickson, will be available in The Commons. This is a meditative experience on the death and resurrection of Jesus, recognizing that how we see the resurrection changes how we see everything.
As Erickson shares: “Each one of the stations draws from the resurrection story and invites us into a change of perspective: one that affected the followers back then, and one that invites the followers right now.”
We hope you will set aside this time to join us for this beautiful service of worship and reflection.
Important Details for March 5:
- No GROW activities.
- No dinner will be served.
- Family tables will be provided outside the Great Hall in the apses to partake of ashes and the Lord’s Supper and watch the service on our TVs.
